Energy Policy Call to Action

RAM Supports a Focus on
Affordability for Ratepayers

The residents and businesses of the Commonwealth need and deserve an affordable, stable, and reliable energy supply.  As a member of the Mass Coalition for Sustainable Energy (MCSE), RAM continues to fight for that goal.

With the debate on energy affordability coming up in the MA Senate TOMORROW, now is the time to make sure your voice is heard.

The MCSE is a coalition of business, employer, and labor groups – and their members – working to ensure affordable and reliable energy policy in Massachusetts.  Legislation under consideration in the Senate this week could allow for the end of the natural gas distribution system.  Natural gas remains the largest and preferred source of heat for a vast majority of Massachusetts residents and businesses.  Governor Healey has said the state needs more natural gas to help combat high energy prices. Yet, as written, the bill coming up in the Senate would make that critical energy source more expensive, less safe, and less reliable.

As we struggle with high energy prices, we need policies focused on affordability, not ones that propose to take energy sources off the table.  Consumers and ratepayers need choices.  If we start to eliminate choices now, it will only worsen the state's energy supply problems and drive prices up even further.

Click here to contact your state senator today and ask them to support an all-of-the-above approach toward energy sourcing and an immediate focus on lowering costs for families and small businesses.
