RAM REMINDER: Premium Pay Required on Juneteenth Independence Day

Members are reminded that Juneteenth Independence Day, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, has been established as a state holiday in Massachusetts.  It has also been added to the list of holidays that require retail premium pay under the state’s Blue Laws.  On Monday, June 20th all work performed at retail must be compensated at 1.1 times an employee’s regular hourly wage.  In addition, all work on the 20th must remain voluntary, and refusal to work may not be grounds for discrimination, dismissal, discharge, reduction in hours, or any other penalty.  For more information please visit the RAM 2022 Retail Holiday Schedule
